From software architecture perspective why go with something if you know there’s a better or more efficient way to do it? I haven't been catching up with all the IOTA news for quite some time, so forgive my ignorance - I know that Qubic was in the works since last year and there is an effort to bring smart contracts as well as distributed computing to IOTA.
